One of the simplest ways to start the day on a meat-first diet is to keep breakfast minimal and satisfying. You don’t need many ingredients — just a few reliable combinations that feel like a proper meal.

Option 1: Eggs and steak (or ground beef)

This is one of the most popular and straightforward options:

  • 2–4 eggs cooked in butter or tallow

  • Leftover steak or freshly cooked ground beef

  • Salt generously

It’s fast to prepare and highly satiating.

Option 2: Bone broth based

For a lighter but still satisfying start:

  • A cup or bowl of bone broth (warmed with added fat if desired)

  • Optional: A couple of eggs on the side or stirred in

  • Salt to taste

This can feel warming and grounding, especially in colder months.

Option 3: Simple steak and eggs

If you prefer something more substantial:

  • A small steak (ribeye or sirloin works well)

  • 2–3 eggs cooked however you like

  • Plenty of salt and fat

This combination is quick to cook and keeps you full for hours.

A note on timing and meal frequency

Many people find that their eating patterns naturally shift after a few months on a meat-first diet. What starts as “breakfast” often evolves into eating later in the day, with some people moving toward two meals a day (TMAD) or even one meal a day (OMAD).

This is normal. As hunger signals and energy levels stabilize, many find they no longer feel the need to eat early in the morning. There’s no strict rule about when or how often you should eat — the most important thing is finding a rhythm that feels sustainable and supports how you want to feel.
